The San Francisco Great Books Council is an affiliate of the Great Books Foundation of Chicago, a non-profit educational organization, whose mission is to provide people of all ages the opportunity to read, discuss, and learn from outstanding works of literature, current and past.
The San Francisco Council of Great Books coordinates over 40 book groups in Northern California, publishes a newsletter, provides leader training, helps start new book groups, and sponsors high-quality literary events throughout Northern California.
