Great Books in the Gold Country
Since 2010 we've held annual Gold Country mini-retreats in beautiful Auburn, CA, nestled in the Sierra foothills. Like our mini-retreats in San Francisco and Calistoga, this is a one-day event that combines discussion of a book with a screening of a related film. There is a small charge, and lunch is provided.
On May 13, 2017 we'll convene at the Auburn Municipal Airport to discuss Anne-Marie O'Connor's:
Lady in Gold: The Extraordinary Tale of Gustav Klimt's Masterpiece, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer
After lunch we'll view the film adaptation, Woman in Gold, starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.
