Starting in 2009, we began gathering for a new one-day mini-retreat at Calistoga Hot Springs in the wine country. Calistoga is a lovely small town at the northern end of the Napa Valley, at the foot of Mt. St. Helena. There are many excellent restaurants and delis in town, but no fast food -- it's against the law! For those who wish to extend their stay in the wine country, we will send a list of local accommodations when we accept your registration.
Our next Wine Country retreat will be on October 6, 2012. We will discuss Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and we'll enjoy a screening of its film adaptation. Please check back on this site closer to that date for a downloadable flyer and registration form for the event.
In previous years, we've enjoyed discussions of the book and film versions of The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, Catch-22 and A Man for All Seasons.
