PUBLIC INVITED TO GREAT BOOKS WEEKEND AT
ASILOMAR -- Works by Tocqueville,
Flaubert, Arthur Miller to be Discussed
San Francisco, Calif. – All
book lovers are welcome April 7-9, 2006, at the Asilomar
Conference Center, Pacific Grove, for the San Francisco Great Books Council’s
spring event.
“Each year I look forward to this
weekend – lively discussions, thoughtful readers, beautiful setting,” says
Brent Browning of Los Gatos.
Madame
Bovary by Gustave Flaubert,
excerpts from Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville, The Price by Arthur Miller, and
selected poetry, are on the agenda.
Everyone’s opinion is respected, newcomer and veteran alike.
Registration
is now open but space may be limited so early signup is recommended. The weekend includes lodging for Friday and
Saturday, six meals, reading materials, and two parties. Rates are surprisingly affordable at $227 to
